In 1998 I bought an Oldenburg mare, Wendeskol. She was only 6 months old when I bought her. When she was about a year old she developed some growth problems. Upon further research with local vets and then MSU, it was determined she had very bad joint type problems in her hocks and would never be ridable. And even worse, I found out then that the seller had not told me the whole story of this baby. She had been a twin, born early, and her joints had not developed fully. I had a lame for life, horse.
So, when handed lemons - make lemonade. June of 2002 we had Wendy bred to an Arabian stallion named Summer Saga. See information about Saga here.
May 12, 2003, Wendeskol gave birth to twins. She carried full term and they are healthy and happy.

They grew like weeds and kept getting stronger each day. We supplemented the mare's milk with a bottle and then a bucket. They ate well and were very healthy and curious.

They look like grown up horses! Yipee!
The summer of their third year both Willy and Whinny went to Jeff Farmer for saddle training. He rode them both, though did not stress them. Handled them, climbed all over them, rode them, did ground work. They took to it well and we put them back out in the pasture to do some more growing.

September 08 - Willy is doing great with Katie Stoy. They have done quite a few dressage shows by now and his scores are wonderful. He earned his Performance Certificate in Training level and they are now working on First Level.

Dec 2008 - Willy earned his Legion of Honor with the AHA. He is now Winter Saga+.
Dec 2008 - Willy came home from Katie's. We started playing Parelli games and building our relationship back up. He has been gone for awhile and I want him to trust me and work with me as well as he did with Katie.
